The Bosom Buddies One Bonus Epilogue
Wesley
“This was a great idea.” Sabrina beamed as she looked around the table in the homey catfish restaurant. “I know lots of people like to have separate bachelor and bachelorette parties, but Coral, your plan to do a fun weekend getaway with the six of us is absolutely perfect.”
“I agree,” Celeste chimed in. “And doing it here on Cumberland Island was so much fun. The beach and all the historical sites . . .”
Coral chuckled and rubbed her hands together. “Those old houses and forts gave me some ideas for a new series of books.”
Dax groaned. “Babe, you just started that new series. Take it one thing at a time.”
His fiancée tossed up her hands. “I can’t help it! Inspiration is everywhere.”
Ty patted Coral’s arm. “I get it, Coral. I feel the same way about my music.” He smiled. “And I agree with everyone else. This has been fun.”
“If only the rest of wedding planning was as lowkey,” Celeste remarked. “I swear, if my mom sends me one more Instagram reel about how to make my wedding unforgettable, I’m going to scream.”
“For me, it’s the time,” put in Sabrina. “Wesley is handling almost everything because I’m so swamped at the hospital.” She slipped her hand into mine. “And I’m super grateful for his work on it.”
Coral groaned. “I wish I could get my parents to just stand down. I only want a tiny, quiet ceremony and a nice dinner. And I don’t care who’s there as long as all of you are.”
“Hey.” Celeste’s gaze roamed around the table, her eyes sparkling. “I just had a crazy idea.”
“So what else is new?” teased Sabrina. “All your ideas are crazy, sweetie.”
“I want to hear it!” Coral piped up. “Crazy ideas are the best ones.”
“Well–” Celeste glanced at Ty and then at the rest of us. “What if we got married here, this weekend? All of us, together?”
“You mean, we’d elope?” Sabrina pursed her lips, her eyes narrowing. “Could we do that?”
“Yeah, I saw a sign in the hotel lobby that said you can get a license at the courthouse down the road–and there’s no waiting period.” Dax stretched an arm behind Coral’s chair and rubbed her back. “Hey, I’m game if Coral is.”
“My mom would kill me.” She nibbled her lip. “But you know what? She’d get over it.”
“She could throw you a party later,” Sabrina said. “I know my dad wants to walk me down the aisle, and I want that, too, but maybe we could do something later, when I’m finished this rotation.” She glanced at me. “At least we’d be married.”
I threaded our fingers together. “That’s all I want, babe.”
“If we did it, we wouldn’t have to worry about the press,” observed Ty. “We could have a reception later, but we’d know that our ceremony was real, and just for us.”
Celeste nodded. “That’s what I was thinking.”
“Are we doing this?” Sabrina leaned forward. “For real?”
Coral reached out her hands to her two best friends. “I wouldn’t want to get married without you. You’re my people.”
Sabrina grinned. “Let’s do it.”
“We’re getting married today!” Celeste did a little dance in her chair. “I can’t believe it.”
Sabrina snuggled closer to me. “Are you really okay with this, babe?”
I pulled her against me. “Sweetheart, as long as I get to say I do and hear you do the same, I don’t care when or where we do it. If we’re married at the end of the day, I’m a happy man.”
And that’s how the Bosom Buddies got married, all together, at sunset on a Georgia island, on the happiest day of my life.
