The Thanksgiving One Bonus Epilogue
Zander
“Oh, my God, is that David Boreanaz?”
As we sat at our table for two in the trendy Los Angeles deli, Diego glanced over at me, following the direction of my gaze, amusement in his eyes. “Baby, be cool. That is indeed Angel of Buffy and Angel fame, as well as Jason of SEAL Team. Want me to introduce you?”
My mouth sagged open. “You know him? Like, if we go up, he’s not going to think we’re crazy fan boys?”
Diego winked. “Well, he’s not going to think I’m a crazy fan boy. The jury’s still out on you.”
I drew an X over my heart. “I promise, I’ll behave. I’ll be so chill that DB won’t even know that I’ve ever heard of him. I’ll be all like, oh, yeah, I guess you kind of look familiar, maybe . . .”
“I wouldn’t exactly go that far.” My husband gave a sigh of long-suffering patience. “I thought by now, after you’ve met so many celebrities, you’d be over it, babe. I mean, think about the friends who are gathering around our table at the farm this year for Thanksgiving. Most of them would be considered Hollywood A listers, and yet, you’re not freaking about them.”
“That’s true,” I conceded. I had met many of Diego’s more famous friends during my winters on the West Coast with him as well as on frequent trips to various shooting locations. “But then again, none of them are super-hot hunk David Boreanaz.” I paused. “Oh, hey, do you think he wants to have Thanksgiving with us this year, too?”
“He’s got a wife and family, Zander.”
“They can come, too. As long as I can sit and look at DB, and they don’t get in the way, they’re welcome to our farm.”
Diego quirked an eyebrow. “Babe, you’re beginning to make me jealous. Don’t tell me he’s the type who gets your engine revving?”
I pretended to think about that. “Okay, sweetheart, I’m not gonna lie. I’ve been lusting over David Boreanaz for a long time. I fell hard for him during Buffy.” I reached out to lay my hand over Diego’s. “But baby, you’re the only man who gets my motor hot. You’re the one who’s going home with me every night. And you’re the only guy I want in my bed for the rest of our lives.”
“Now that’s what I like to hear.” He smirked. “And in the spirit of the approaching holiday and my generous nature, I’ll make the intros as we leave.”
“You’re the best husband in the world.” I curved my fingers around his hand, squeezing. “You know, I love our time out here in Tinseltown, but I can’t wait to get back to the farm where you’re not Diego Ramos, sexy actor in demand and all-around hot property. You’re just Diego—my Diego, and I don’t have to share you with anyone else.”
He turned his hand so our palms pressed together. “But I’m still a hot property, even in Georgia, right?”
I shot him the smolder. “Back in Burton, you’re my hot property, and I own your smoking ass, dude.” Letting my lips curve into a smile of promise, I added, “Just like you totally own mine.”
“Damn right,” Diego muttered, and the heat glinting in his eyes made my heart beat speed up. “I’d like to take that fine ass home to bed right now. What do you say, baby?”
“I say . . . hell, yeah.” I reached for my ball cap and pushed back my chair. “Um, but can we still stop to say hello to David on our way out?”
Diego rolled his eyes, but at the same time, he tugged me closer and planted a blistering hot kiss on my lips.
“As long as you’re thinking only of me when I make you come tonight, I’m happy to introduce you to your man candy, babe.”
I let my fingers play with the hair on the back of his neck. “How could I ever think of anyone else?”
“Baby, you know that’s what I like to hear.” He smacked my ass and linked our hands. “Let’s go, farm boy.”
And while meeting David Boreanaz was great, it didn’t come close to the fireworks I saw a little while later in bed with my sexy husband.
